There are two City beaches open to the public for supervised swimming starting late June to the third week in August. Beavermead Park - Ashburnham Drive Rogers Cove - Maria Street Both beaches will be supervised seven days a week from noon until 7:00 pm. A flag system is in place at the beaches to indicate the water quality. The entrance to the park is located off of George Street, with lots of available parking. This is a waterfront park and is the location of Peterborough’s Marina. The park is the host site to a variety of special events and activities. The park itself has washrooms, benches, picnic areas, gardens and wonderful views of the lake and Peterborough Fountain. There is an interlocking brick trail, known as the Pathway of Fame, around the the park. Del Crary Park is the site of Peterborough’s Festival of Lights concerts each summer. | |

The Recreation Division provides supervised wading pools at six different locations throughout the City. These pools are appropriate for young children. The wading pools operate late June to the fourth week in August and are supervised daily from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, seven days per week.
